The Background of Wives Day

Five years after the September 11th terrorist attacks, God led our Pastors to start Wives Day in order to strengthen our church families and our community. The 5th of March was originally designated as Wives Day. Two years later, we moved it to the 3rd Sunday in September in an effort to join other Christians who were working to strengthen families. After that, we moved it back to the 1st Sunday in March.

Wives are the unsung heroines of our society, and the time has come to give them the honor and respect afforded them for their role in American history and culture. Besides that we think they are great!

“Wives Day” is not a single event. It is a 24-hour holiday to celebrate the important roles of wives. “Wives Day” is also, a year-round educational drive to help young girls who want to one day become good wives and to help young boys learn how to treat a wife after they marry.

The goals of this movement are to help rebuild the moral fabric of our nation, strengthen families, reduce annual divorce rates, and inspire children to pursue traditional values for their future families.

Who should celebrate “Wives Day”? Everyone! Women and girls, men and boys. Widows, ex’s, husbands and wives! Everyone should celebrate “Wives Day”!
